Alexandra grew up singing in church, where piano and choral music quickly became central to her life. By fifteen, she was playing folk and blues piano and organ with friends, spending weekends performing in bars across St. Louis and nearby towns. Today, she blends her love of performing with a passion for teaching—sharing music with young students at St. Louis’ historic New City School and partnering with Jackson Pianos to expand music education throughout the community.
Inspired by artists like Otis Spann, Champion Jack Dupree, James Booker, Alberta Hunter, and Billy Preston, Alexandra specializes in piano blues and roots vocals. She has performed and toured with many St. Louis acts, including Al Holliday and the East Side Rhythm Band, Sean Canan’s Voodoo Players, and Black Magic: A Tribute to Carlos Santana. She also leads her own project, the Alexandra Sinclair Band, and appears as a resident solo artist at jazz and blues venues across the city.
